How do I backup my recordings?

You can use our cloud backup functionality to retain your recordings for longer.

The length of time that recordings are held on a device is limited by the device's storage capabilities and any settings you have configured for it.

If you have an important incident that you want to keep for longer or download, we recommend that you use our cloud backup solution.

This enables you to request the upload of high-quality locally held recordings to our secure, encrypted cloud storage. The functionality allows you to download the recording as an MP4 once the upload is complete.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Devices page from the navigation menu.

  2. Find the device you wish to request recordings to be uploaded from.

  3. Click the Settings (cog) button for the device:

  4. Click the Recording option from the sub-navigation on the device page:

  5. Find the Recording backups section on the page, and click the New backup button:

  6. Fill out the options on the form shown and click Upload:

  7. You will be taken to the Recording backups page, with your new upload being shown in the list with the remaining time available:

  8. Once it is complete, the recording is then stored encrypted in the cloud. You can request an MP4 file be generated by clicking the grey download icon:

  9. You will then see a generation status, it is a fairly quick process:

  10. Once it has been generated, the button will re-appear in a new colour. Clicking this will then start the download:
