What's new in the 2023.1 release?

This article describes the new features available to you with the latest update.

Updated over 11 months ago

We are pleased to announce that we've added the following new features for the 2023.1 release.

  • We introduced a video grid for monitoring multiple cameras
We've added a 2 x 2 video grid to make it easier to view multiple streams at the same time.

  • Camera management has moved to the cloud!
You no longer have to visit the device to add, delete, or configure what cameras are connected to your device.

  • 'Dark' mode for low-light monitoring
Our web and apps now support automatic dark mode to make it more comfortable to monitor your notifications and videos in low-light rooms.

  • Smarter notifications video clip uploading
Clip uploads are now smarter - if you Reject a new incoming notification we'll now automatically stop the upload of the clip to save you bandwidth.

  • New 'Boost' mode for video backups
We added the ability to speed up video backups from a device (up to x10!) - for the occasions where the backup is more important than all other functions.

We've also improved our user interface on user feedback:

  • Tidy this list of notifications has been improved to only show you sensible options, and avoid accidentally reopening large numbers of closed notifications.

  • We've added the ability to search for different analytics types (motion or zone crossing) within Search notifications:

  • The Devices pages have been improved to include a new 'list' view and we've added a new simpler group membership page for devices and users.

  • We've improved security by adding the ability to log out of all your logged-in sessions when you change your password

  • Performance improvements when you have large numbers of devices and users - including only loading video previews when on-screen, and splitting user lists into multiple pages.

  • We've improved the device allocation wizard to make it simpler to allocate multiple devices into a group or create a new group for them.

  • New user creation wizard. You can now invite multiple users and add them to all the appropriate groups in one step!

  • We simplified the apps and removed the Bandwidth settings option - you can still access the same bandwidth controls (that are also on our web app) using the existing Configure device menu option.

  • We've added the ability to download the developer logs for a device directly from the device's configuration page - look under the Advanced section for a new Download developer logs option.
