How do I add/remove cameras on my device?

Find out how to add cameras to your encoding device via our web app.

The ability to add/remove cameras depends on the capabilities of your hardware device and can vary among purchased models.

This is not available on MiniCam devices.

Camera management is now managed from directly within the web app.

Your device supports cameras that are ONVIF Profile S compliant, and will automatically find any such cameras available on your network. For older cameras, you can also manually add RTSP cameras using the

Adding an ONVIF-compatible camera to your device

When your device first comes online you will have to add any cameras you wish to use.

  1. Login to the web app and then click Devices from the left menu

  2. Locate your device from the list of devices:


  3. Click the Settings button at the bottom right - this will take you to your device's configuration page. For a new device, your device will currently show that you have no cameras added:


  4. Click the Manage button this will take you to the list of added cameras (which will be empty for a new device). Click the Add cameras button:


  5. Your device will now search for cameras on all of your device's LAN interfaces:



  6. If your desired camera has a padlock that is because your camera has a username and password set for security reasons. Enter your camera's username/password into the appropriate fields and hit Scan again


    For cameras that have replied positively to the login details supplied the icon should have changed from a padlock to a camera.

  7. Click the Add button on any desired cameras. Some unusual ONVIF devices support multiple output feeds/cameras, and so you may be asked to select a specific camera.

  8. Repeat the above two steps to add any other cameras you need (if they have different login details). Once you've selected all your cameras hit the Next button

  9. You'll be presented with a summary of your requested changes - review and hit Next

  10. The final question you'll be asked is to set your camera feed quality. This is a one-time configuration of your camera's video bit-rate quality and bandwidth settings. For more information on why you should set the low

  11. Hit the Save button. You will be taken back to the list of cameras on your device, where it should now show the camera being added to your device:


    Once complete, the preview section will update to include a snapshot image taken from your camera.

Changes to Local Access Mode

Now that you can manage your cameras from the web we have removed the camera management functions from Local Access Mode. Now you only need Local Access Mode to configure your device's network configuration!
