Get your device up and running quickly!

Updated over a week ago

Prerequisites

  • You'll need to decide how you're connecting your device to the internet - 4G, LAN, or Wi-Fi.

  • If you are using a LAN or Wi-Fi connection to connect your internet connection you may need your IT department to open firewall ports.

  • You need to set up your IP camera on a network that's accessible from your device.

  • You will need to have the ONVIF login details (username and password) of your camera.

  • You'll need to have logged in to the web app previously so that you can configure your device and add your camera to your device from the web.

Steps

  1. Unpack all the hardware from the box.

  2. (Link users only) For users connecting their device to the internet using 4G:

    • If your device was supplied with a micro-size SIM card, it will be automatically configured and ready for use. OR

    • If your device was not supplied with a micro-size SIM card, you will have to insert a SIM card into your device (check the label on top of your device for insertion advice - the gold pins should be face up).

Your device should auto-detect most consumer SIM cards settings, but for more commercial/unusual SIM cards you may have to manually enter your SIM cards settings later.

    • Attach the supplied antenna to your device (make sure to use the 4G connectors and not the GPS connector)

  3. Your device has two LAN ports (default network configuration) you may need to connect - here's a recommendation on which ones to use:

    • Connect LAN 1 (port nearest power adapter) to your LAN network if you are using LAN/broadband as a way to connect to the cloud service - this will use DHCP to automatically get an IP address on your network.

    • If your cameras are on the same network as your internet connection, then you don't need to use LAN 2.

    • If your cameras are on a different network, or you are directly connecting to the camera then connect LAN 2 to that network/your camera. If your camera network is DHCP then you should be able to see your cameras, otherwise, you'll need to use local access mode to configure LAN 2.

  4. If you're using Wi-Fi to connect to the internet you'll set that up later.

  5. Power your device.

Once powered, log into the web app and wait on the Notifications screen. If your device's default network settings match your configuration your device should appear online after a few minutes and be ready for configuration. If this is the case you'll receive a notification:

From here you'll be able to perform the first run wizard.

If your device has not appeared after 5-10 minutes, you may need to log in locally to configure your network settings using local access mode. This will start up automatically after 5 minutes to help assist with your connection issue - here's how to connect to your device and access its web interface.
