How do I disable/reset two-factor authentication for my account?

Two-factor authentication improves the security of your account.

Updated over a year ago

Depending on your organisation's security settings you may find that you are automatically enrolled for 2FA, or do not have the option to disable it.

For users with a Single Sign-on (SSO) account advanced security features like 2FA are handled by your SSO provider - the options below won't be available to you.

Two-factor authentication adds another level of protection to your account and requires you to enter a six-digit code (after your username and password) from an authenticator app that only you have access to. This six-digit code is automatically regenerated every 30 seconds to ensure that any stolen code won't be usable at a later date.

Steps

  1. Click the person icon at the top right of the home page:

  2. You will now be on the My settings page. Within the Account security box, your Two-factor authentication status will be listed as either Enabled or Disabled.

Depending on your organisation's security settings you may be presented with the following options:

Enrol

Selecting this option will start the two-factor authentication enrolment process.

Reset

Selecting this option will remove your existing 2FA configuration and restart the two-factor authentication enrolment process.

Disable

Selecting this option removes 2FA entirely from your account.
