What is Virtual PTZ?

The virtual PTZ functionality allows you to emulate some of the features of PTZ for cameras that don't support it.

It also allows you to look at images in more detail within the camera’s field of view.

Steps to use it

  1. Open the application.

  2. Navigate to the Devices page.

  3. Click on the Device that you would like to use and click on View located to the bottom right of the screen.

  4. To open the PTZ functionality scroll over the icon located to the bottom right of the screen and the command Open Virtual PTZ will appear. The icon contains a small box within a larger box.

  5. Click on this Icon. If the icon disappears click anywhere within the video stream window and it will bring the icon options back up.

  6. To use the virtual PTZ functionality you will have to zoom in using the + symbol. This will enable you to move the camera around virtually within the field of view.

  7. To Zoom in more use the + symbol, to zoom out, use the – symbol.

  8. To use the cursor, you can either:

  • Grab the cursor by clicking and holding the small grey circle inside the larger transparent circle. Keep hold of the cursor and move it around in all directions depending on which area you would like to view.

  • Click on one of the four small directional arrows located in the North, South, West and East positions.
