How do I create or edit weekly notification schedules?

Weekly schedules allow you to create a repeating set of rules dictating when analytics should trigger notifications for users.

Updated over a year ago

This allows you to reduce the number of unnecessary notifications generated, helping you to concentrate on only the important hours that matter to you and your users.

Steps to create/edit

  1. Navigate to the Global settings page from the navigation menu.

  2. Click the Manage button located to the right of "Default weekly schedule: [State]".

  3. Either:

    1. Click the Create new schedule button at the top of the page.

    2. Click the Edit button to the right of the schedule you wish to edit.

  4. You will be presented with the following interface:

  5. There are two elements that can be changed:

    1. The Schedule name, which will be used throughout our system
      (You should make this descriptive!)

    2. A list of Arm and Disarm actions.

  6. To complete your schedule, you will have to choose what days and times the system should arm and disarm.

    1. For each entry, you must choose:

      1. Day

      2. Hour

      3. Minutes

      4. Arm or Disarm

  7. Once you have completed the schedule, you can click the Preview link if you wish to get an illustration of the schedule:

  8. Once you are happy, you can then click the Save button to submit the form.

A real-world scenario

Let's work through a real-world scenario where we have an area with "office hours"
of:

  • Monday - Thursday
    08:15 am - 6:00 pm

  • Friday
    09:00 am - 5:00 pm

In this scenario, the user wants to arm the notification system outside of those office hours.

To do so, the user would need to input the following:

Day

Monday

08:15

Disarm

Monday

18:00

Tuesday
